Nice confortable room - nice breakfast
The room was very well set out and equipped.
The refurbished rooms. The rooms were becoming shoddy and we had stayed at alternative venues. Now with the new look rooms we will once again stay with the Duxton. The room was fresh, clean and bright.
I really think thata $30 to park a car per night is exorbitant, but it appears that it fits the market so, so be it. A suggestion I would like to offer is not to stick to market rates but offer your customers a reduced car parking rate.
There was everything needed for a pleasant comfortable nights stay.
old rooms, no power sockets
Conference facilities were good and central city location is excellent. All food was excellent - room service, conference and bar.
Wireless internet was not available at our conference stand location.
We thouught the valet parking charge was excessive. $25 for a continental breakfast was exhorbitant. We booked a Delux room but there was nothing delux about it - very "tired" looking. Only double beds in room (which were uncomfortable) - we expected a queen size bed.
Being senior farmers and not used to the hustle and bustle of city life, the Amora Hotel was easy to find and central to where we needed to go so took a taxi and the staff took care of all our needs which is greatly appreciated. We were in a wing that was quiet and no air conditioning or pump noises in the ceiling which was great. Thank you.
The location. Also the luxury of the room
Nothing really. The shower door never meet the bottom of the tiled floor and loads of water went everywhere. And I got sauce on the rob. Wouldve been nice to have them replaced for my second night.
The location of the Hotel is its biggest asset, centrally situated easy to arrive at. We travelled by the Airport bus from the airport and got off at a stop within a small block from the hotel which took us a matter of minutes to walk into the lobby entrance. Recommend this way of transport as you get to view the scenery at a height vantage, far better than a taxi and to top it off the information on the bus was up to the minute with it’s on board computer system and Wi Fi for those who need it. The hotel rooms would have some of the best view vantages in Wellington with a vista over the inner harbor, Tepapa and the Tararua Ranges, Fantastic. On our arrival and departure we found the front office personal to be most helpful and courteous.
We stayed on the club floor.. Lovely big bed.. Great little chocolate treats on the bed.. Big bathroom.. Club lounge excellent, with a few drinks before we went out, and a serene unrushed gourmet breakfast.. Wiorth paying to stay on this floor. Doorman by helpful re storing luggage and picking up the car.
I think the wireless should be free.. Even if limited downloads I stayed in a motel in a motor load he and received free downloads..
The views from my bedroom on the 9th floor And not in central city but close enough for a short walk Clean hotel friendly staff
Although this was a business trip we enjoyed the position. Managed a short visit to Te Papa after the meeting which was a bonus as it was so close.
Staff were very quick to be of assistance, helpful and showed iniative. They were friendly and very approachable. The decor is certainly different and we enjoyed that difference. The view from the windows is brilliant.
The air-conditioining in our room, 514, was very noisy. Not good, but the only fault with the room.
Great location for restaurants, night life and shopping! Beautiful views of the city lights and harbour. I loved the 11am checkout.
